Transportation Tips...

Transportation to Brazil is best handled by your Pousada management because there is no direct route into Abadiania, since it is a remote village. It is about 2 hours by vehicle from Brazilia, which is the Brazilian capital.Most people enter via Sao Paolo or Rio and then on to Brazilia. You can either rent a car from the airport or hire a taxi through the Pousada management. Costs vary but the taxi should cost about 100 Real.
There is no longer a tax at the airport.
Location: Abadiania,Brazil

Food Tips...

Each hotel/pousada has its own eating facilities and there are small cafes in the village. Meals cost about 5 Reals and are usually buffet style.
Water can be purchased at the pousadas but it is not encouraged that you drink the tap water.
Best to buy at the Casa de Dom Ignacio.
Breakfast is usually included in the hotel nightly price.

*Clothing Tips...
Temps range between 60-90 degrees most of the year.The village is on a plateau so the evenings and mornings can be cool.

* Money Exchange Tips...
The coin of the realm is the "real" and is worth about .50 U.S. or 2 real for 1 U.S. dollar. Be sure to check the current rates before exchanging because the rates vary by exchange location and the daily stock market fluxuations.Your port of entry is the best location to exchange currencies. It is advisable to get as many small bills as possible since the local merchants will not carry much money on hand and therefore cannot exchange your money. The local bank does not exchange foreign money. The closest town that does exchange money is a bus trip away.Credit cards are usually not accepted and again you will have to go to the nearest town for money.Travellers checks have the same problem.
